Such an adventurous and dramatic find and one which has us both very excited, this vintage 1940's Art Deco moderne Diamond and Ruby cocktail ring, oft known as a 'tank' ring speaks the spirit of the time when post WWII women were feeling a new confidence. All entirely original and with dramatic views from every angle bespeaking an architectural approach, the whole is hand crafted by a master jeweller showing the highest art of the day in Platinum and 18ct Yellow Gold which is marked inside the band with workshop stamps for '18CT' 'PLAT'.
Many of the smaller Diamonds were recycled and some date to earlier centuries; the main antique (recycled when this ring was made) Pear cut Diamond has been weighed at 0.38ct and is of beautiful quality. The edging of bright pinky Rubies to the edging is subtle and adds that cheeky pop of colour... the most striking high fashion item in her day.
The ring size is a small 'J' or '4.75'. If you inspect our images closely you'll see the cleverness of the construction and be amazed at the work. It weighs 9.46 grams and measures 12mm at widest point and 20.33mm across the finger.
